Standard method:

1. Extract all files from the genealone-wp.zip archive.

2. Upload the extracted genealone-wp folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation.

3. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress (click on Plugins -> Installed Plugins menu, find Genealone WP and click on Activate link). Now you have a new admin menu ‘Genealone’ in your WordPress admin menu bar. Click on it and Configure your settings or import GEDCOM file (optionally).

4. Create a new WordPress page and simply insert the following shortcode (including the square brackets) to its body:

[genealone]

5. Go to the created page or to Dashboard -> Genealone for settings.

6) Free version is limited to 50 individuals and 10 gallery images. To lift the limitations you need to purchase license key from Genealone WP page and install it. Log in as an WordPress administrator, navigate to Dashboard -> Administration -> License/Installation and fill in your license key. The limitations will be lifted immediately.

To update the plugin, simply copy the new files over the old ones. Deactivation prior the update is not needed.

 

Simple method

1. Go to your WordPress dashboard and click on Plugins -> Add New.

2. Click on the link “Upload plugin” next to the page title and upload the zipped plugin file.

3. Click on Plugins -> Installed Plugins menu, find Genealone WP and click on Activate link. Now you have a new admin menu ‘Genealone’ in your WordPress admin menu bar. Click on it and Configure your settings or import GEDCOM file (optionally).

4. Create a new WordPress page and simply insert the following shortcode (including the square brackets) to its body:

Log in as an WordPress administrator, navigate to Dashboard -> Administration -> License/Installation and fill in your license key. The limitations will be lifted immediately.

Please note you cannot use this method to update the plugin. You can deactivate it and delete it first, though, and then re-install it. Your data won’t be deleted from the database, but you will lost uploaded images or documents. So if you have images or documents in Genealone, do NOT update the plugin using the simple method.
